Divorce Rates DROPPING?

Reply Wed 11 Jul, 2007 06:23 pm
Thats right boys and girls as of new results released, the divorce rate in the united states has dropped from 50.6 to 37 Percent. Some scholars believe that is because ANULLMENTS which are on the rise are not counted in Divorce Figures.

@rugonnacry,
Facts and figures like that make me chuckle, just like GW's 2 million new jobs, unfortunately they were minimum wage jobs LOL

@rugonnacry,
it's a two part economic strategy, Edwards will get elected and raise minimum wage to $15/hr because he thinks haircuts cost $500

and those numbers aren't possible! Everybody knows America is at an unprecedented level of christian moral decay!!!

now being serious

most states have rather limited annulment clauses, I think that a rise in annulments equated to 2% of the change it would be landmark. 13%, not possible. I think if you check you'll find the average age at marriage rising as well as a drop in divorce among boomers since there getting to old to remarry again

This reminds me of when I worked at a local Texas Workforce Center. We held a big, two-week-long seminar for lost-causes in the state welfare system. We promised them that if they just attended the seminar (eight-hour days, for two work-weeks), we would gaurantee them jobs afterward. Throughout the two weeks, they kept insisting that the jobs be something above minimum wage, and we kept assuring that yes, they would be 'decent' jobs. In fact, we had to give the seminar to burn up Federal job-readiness dollars in our budget. Meanwhile, we looked frantically for jobs for them. In the end, they all ended being offered fast-food jobs, for which no special training was required. Most of them walked out on us, refusing the jobs. It was a massive flop, and made us look like idiots. Ha. Glad I left that thankless job.:headbang:

@rugonnacry,
It's was thankless because they thought they deserved something. To proud to work a menial job, they don't deserve even that. IMO what they were saying is they were making a better life on welfare. They all sound like societyscum.
Offered no doubt a free seminar, probably free food at said seminar, and promised them a real job at the end and they couldn't be bothered. ****'em, thanks for the effort pino, at least now it wasn't totally thankless.

Well, if the marriage rate has dropped it doesn't necessarily need to be due to intelligence. Maybe just, the idea of living together without being married, sex out of wedlock etc etc becoming more common/accepted...

Exactly what it implied. I see in the paper all the time of guys killing there X's, the latest fad is doing it while she carry's a child. I know guys in my city that have done so. I did not mean it mean. But the fact remains that i don't know. Hence the ? I have also seem men that will take themselves out of the equation, meaning suicide.
He's here, and he talks of his children, so i assume there mother is still alive. LOL no malice.
