This reminds me of when I worked at a local Texas Workforce Center. We held a big, two-week-long seminar for lost-causes in the state welfare system. We promised them that if they just attended the seminar (eight-hour days, for two work-weeks), we would gaurantee them jobs afterward. Throughout the two weeks, they kept insisting that the jobs be something above minimum wage, and we kept assuring that yes, they would be 'decent' jobs. In fact, we
had to give the seminar to burn up Federal job-readiness dollars in our budget. Meanwhile, we looked frantically for jobs for them. In the end, they all ended being offered fast-food jobs, for which no special training was required. Most of them walked out on us, refusing the jobs. It was a massive flop, and made us look like idiots. Ha. Glad I left that thankless job.:headbang:
