I never said I'd do anything, now did I? Show me ANYWHERE where I said I'd drop by. You offered your address, I accepted. Nothing more. If you can show me exactly where I said I would visit you, please do.

You're again trying to inject what you think is the truth to fit your own little chunk of the world. That eliminates your objectivity.

You got snookered. It's that simple.

@Silverchild79,
Whatsamatter, giving up, calling for the aid of a mod? Yo cerro taco bell, that's about as big as your bite.

Drop it hell, you had the ball and dropped it, some call it spineless, what do you call it. The thread is there for every one to see including your other tolerant lib friends. They can decide for themselves or maybe they already have and that's why you cry for help?

I social engineered your address right out of you, homeslice. Now, do you want to really understand why what you did is colossally stupid?

Hang on tight.

With your address, you give a 'person' something very important: a range. Thirty miles or so with the target address slightly off center towards the most densely populated area. The first thing you do at that point is find out what telephone exchanges (prefix numbers... your first three digits) serve that area. In this case, there are six. I will not list them. At that point you wardial. There are ways around the attention this draws, I will not disclose this information. You'll come up with a good number of computers in that area connected via modem (bonus points for modem servers and Shivas), and chances are you're gonna be in one of em. Doctor's offices, pharmacies, car repair shops, little local shops with club BBSes... the list is rather extensive. Nailing one of the bigger ones will usually render, when combined with an address: phone numbers, SSNs, credit card numbers, routing and account numbers (automatic withdrawal is teh win!)... the list is once again rather extensive.

At the very least, you're buying some kid porno mags. At worst, your identity shows up in a terror investigation and in all cases you won't know a thing about it until it's all over.

This isn't a world of "Meet me at my house and we'll see who's a badass!" anymore... we're not squawking through CB mics. Technology changes the whole ballgame.

But, I'm a law abiding, tax paying citizen and would never do such things.

Just to toss in some political chit-chat in here... this is why a lot of privacy advocates and people with extensive computer backgrounds (let's call them "liberals") are against things such as RealID, warrantless wiretapping and data mining.

*Yes, lots of systems out there still use the good old fashioned POTS line and modem. The majority of credit card transaction verifications and ATM services happen over POTS.

Now, mods, can we clean this mess up? Hillary just got sunk, Obama's been challenged to debates by McCain... it's about goddamn time the dems chose so we can get on with this!

this isn't a quote but i think this is the only way someone wil see my post. People want to vote for Obama because he says he'll do all these changes. But HELLO, change isn't always good. I mean duh we can learn from our mistakes, but that doesn't mean change the world as we know it now does it? I guess what im trying to say is :Please, If Obama can't fool a child, don't let him fool you. (no offense)

Stupid is the person that uses it. Luckly you lack the spine.

I'm too old to play the game. However you can clearly see I know how to play it. Don't worry, you're safe... you can unlock the windows.

Why? I haven't asked for anything yet.

I just showed you what can be done with the right information and tactics, nothing more.

Yeah, you hate the competition.[/QUOTE]

I don't like things that make such tasks easier. In this day and age we don't need things that make identity theft easier. Today identities, credit card and bank accounts are compromised because we are too eager to use a technology before we know all the ins and outs, before security really becomes a forefront concern.

BTB, is that six-four still for sale?

Since I am accusing them of ignorance, the accused must provide evidence that they have a deeper understanding of politics than the catch phrases they yell at rallies for Obama, because the catch phrases are all we hear, not the supposed deep thought processes behind them.
