Even if some of his supporters did break the law to send out emails, that in no way negates his successes on social networking sites, online polls, and most importantly, fundraising. I call it overzealous and thoughtless campaigning, but I'd appreciate it if you'd alter the title of the thread (if possible), as, like the article said, NO EVIDENCE exists linking the Paul campaign to any wrongdoing.
If Paul's supporters did use a botnet to send out spam emails, all that would do is get his message to more people, it wouldn't change the fact that he wins online polls, raises more money than Huckabee, and has won all but one Fox News sponsored TEXT-MESSAGE poll, which eliminates the possibility of computer tampering.
I'll be interested to see if the MSM picks up on this story despite ignoring his successes on the campaign trail. Actually, this might turn out in Paul's favor, because if the story is covered, pundits will have to acknowledge that, despite the potential wrongdoings of some of his supporters, he DOES have enough support to win polls and secure friends on social networking sites. Lest you forget, spammers on social networking sites still need to be "accepted" as friends. I can't count the number of friend requests I've gotten through myspace from every candidate in the race (save McCain, I don't think I've gotten one from him yet), and yet only one is listed as my "friend".
Good story though. Even libertarians can be dishonest.
