@Silverchild79,
There is nothing redeemable in any form of authoritarian government, period. Maybe in my home, but not in my government....

you can only see one side of the story pino ! the US backed right-wing fascist dictators in latin america,why ? because they were scared that the people of latin america,most of whom are poor would back a left-wing governments,so the US fearing this,backed fascist dictators financially and militarily.

Oh.....you mean like the SANDINISTAS? You know.....the Commies who got VOTED OUT OF GOVERNMENT IN THE EARLY 1990s, whom Castro chastised for allowing democratic elections to occur? Sorry, Scoob. Without the might of the USSR, Communism in Latin America hasn't amounted to much. Once again....it's crap.:FU1: :thumbdown: :FU1:

Allende was catapulted to power by the USSR and Cuba. The US and Chilean military chopped him down, where he belonged. Chileans today practice your kind of diluted Marxism -- democratic, capitalistic, mild-mannered. Allende was a hardcore Marxist-Leninist who wanted to align Chile with the USSR and Cuba during the Cold War. Not very smart. He got his lame arse stomped. @Silverchild79,
They might vote 'socialist', with a lower-case 's', but that doesn't lead to the Communization of their societies. They remain capitalist, democratic and Catholic. Their liberalism is often given some variant of a socialist label.
