GEUDA SPRINGS, Kansas -- Residents of this south-central Kansas community have passed an ordinance requiring most households to have guns and ammunition.
Non-complying residents would be fined $10 under the ordinance, passed 3-2 earlier this month by city council members who thought it would help protect the town of 210 people. Those who suffer from physical or mental disabilities, paupers, and people who conscientiously oppose firearms would be exempt.

I've read of other towns that have passed similar ordinances. This one sounds relatively reasonable, as idiotic policies go...

So why wouldn't you let me murder the scale when it went on the fritz and showed an extra 50 pounds?
Isn't it legitimate to shoot something that causes so much emotional distress?
Where is the ammo? The scale must die!!!

Take it outside the city/county, Diane. Unless you are prepared to prove self defense, of course

2nd amendment says "A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed."

This seems not to be so well regulated...

I'm really disgusted to find that y'all are perpetuating one of the most pernicious and persistent constitutional myths. As any right-thinking, red-blooded 'Merican knows, the original text of the second amendment read:

"A well-regulated militia being an irrelevancy, unrelated to my personal security, the right to keep and shoot off without restriction any goddamned firearm i can afford shall not be infringed."

ROTFLMAO, Setanta!!!

I am on my way to Texas for Thanksgiving. Too bad I can't repeat that to the folks there. They wouldn't know it was a joke.

See you guys this weekend. Have a great holiday!
