John Muhammad gets death penalty on both counts, appeals to begin.
He was the first person ever tried under the State of Virginia's terrorism law.
It seems odd to me to have states' rights on terrorism.
Is it just me, or does terrorism seem to be a federal crime?
...just lookin' for some enlightenment here...
Thank you for the PM, dear.
Now, please answer my question!
Suzette et al...Hi, from Virginia...I concede that I have not seen the whole story yet but I would conjecture that the death penalty was not attributable to VA's new "terrorism" law. That law is certain to be challanged (and, for what it's worth, in my opinion, will be invalidated). This death penalty decision is under the "traditional" standards of Virginia (which if not in the top five states in execution rates is certainly in the top ten). The judge will decide in February, I believe, whether to set aside the jury's decision. I don't see her doing that.
