By the way, need to believe in what? Need to believe for the sake of believing is surely not what you meant.

I for example believe in concrete stuff like:
- being a good person.
- not harming any sentient being.
- helping those sentient beings who are in need.
- educating myself constantly.

There should be enough "belief" there to keep one going for a lifetime.

If Jesus was GOD, then why in Acts:2:22 it said:

"Ye men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know"
[King James Version]-[ Acts:2:22 ]

The Universe goes through a cycle of expansions(bang) and contractions(crunch), it is an ever continous cycle!

accordingly to the laws of physics matter cannot be created nor destroyed, so by this logic matter must have always existed.... thus an infinite universe!

if you want more details please read about BIG BANG and BIG CRUNCH Theories! Be warned they are not easy reads...

Nothing 'always' exists except God. There was a beginning to the Universe, and this we simply don't understand yet, in scientific terms. Physics has not disproven the existence of God. It hasn't advanced that far yet, and probably never will. Now, get out that bag. It's high time for me to mash it. :leghump:

@SWORD of GOD,
To those of you who live on the internet, goodbye for now. I have a real job, one that doesn't allow me to screw around in chat rooms all day. If you're stealing time and electricity from your employer by posting here all day instead of doing your job, shame on you. You need remedial training in ethics.

prove it!

There was a beginning to the Universe
prove it

Physics has not disproven the existence of God.
Nor has is disproved the flying spagetti monster or purple lepprechauns, but be aware the burden of proof is on you

I would like to have absolutes as much as you do Chico. Unfortunately, our need for them is so bad that we end up creating them. In reality, there aren't any. The only absolute in the universe is change. Everything changes every nanosecond and is never the same again.

Truth is absolute only in the context of a "now". Newtonian physics is an absolute in a macro relm and totally crumbles at the quantum level.

But you appear to be an educated, intelligent person and I do not wish to preach. All I am saying is, lets all of us keep an open mind to all possibilities. Life is too short for us not to.

Regards

For me, believing in something absolute is the right thing to do. Everything changes but according to Bible God never change, He is from everlasting to everlasting. Science is good, interesting , entertaining , educational and variable. I believe in pure science..... Anything without facts is not science... in my opinion

Question:

Why can not you believe Jesus (peace be upon him) when he kept referring to the Creator as "MY God"!?..Why do you insist to consider him God when he said the following in your Bible:

[ King James Version ]-[ Jn:20:17 ]: " Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto MY Father, and YOUR Father; and to MY God, and YOUR God."

[ King James ]-[ Jn:17:3 ]-[ And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent. ]

SOG

I understand SOG, because if l was forced by my family at infancy to slice my head and suck up the blood l would be questioning things too...
But l understand it is similar to our Christmas parades, and simply a custom to slice children and then celebrate.
In referance to the bible quotes, have you looked at your koran lately...in the koran Mohommad teaches you not to question other religions...

and by the by, Mohommad also established first with the Jews, and so Isalm is based on the Jewish teachings, thus Islam is based on the same religion as the religion of Jesus. Since the background is the same, your criticism, which is against the teachings of Mohammad, is not valid.

Also, Muhammod was a self-titled prophet and if you follow the Koran it constantly contradicts itself, to the point where guides have been written and in fact various versions are to be found.

The original version, which advocates that God is instructing Mohammad to murder, rape, change his mind resulting in slaughter of hundreds so that he and his men could take property, as well as having sexual relations with children, is fascinating and really paints a clear understanding of your country in the olden age.

Do you clearly understand your own "holy" scriptures? I suggest you read them, since you seem to be not following instructions.

Yet the Father adresses Jesus and states, your Throne oh God is forever and ever. So it is not just Jesus telling the Father oh God, it is also the Father saying to Jesus, Oh God.

Then why did jesus explicitly state that The Father (The God) had sent him and no one could see or hear God at any time !!?

Jesus said:
"And the Father who sent Me, He has testified of Me. You have neither heard His voice at any time nor seen His form." [John 5:37]

Did you look at what you posted? You said Jesus said that no one could see or hear God at any time.
Yet the verse you quoted has Jesus saying you have not heard the Father's voice or seen Him at anytime.
Your bias against the Scriptures have you putting words that are untrue in the mouth of Christ. And I believe you purposely do this to mislead people.
And this is the kind of thing we see the Devil doing all the time. He plays with words to deceive people.

You claim that the whole bible was a Divine book, and that implies no contradiction should exist in it, otherwise it would not have been from God:

In Exodus 33:20, God declares, "You cannot see My face, for no one may see Me and live."

If you believe that Jesus is God then he was the one who declared that "no one can see ME and live". If you reject this decleration then you deny that Jesus was God of the OT.

Choose your option!

Jesus (peace be upon him) said to you:

"You hypocrites, rightly did Isaiah prophesy of you: 'THIS PEOPLE HONORS ME WITH THEIR LIPS, BUT THEIR HEART IS FAR AWAY FROM ME. 'BUT IN VAIN DO THEY WORSHIP ME, TEACHING AS DOCTRINES THE PRECEPTS OF MEN.'" [Matthew 15:7-9]
