Now if you recall the story of Jona, he had free will to. Yet God told Jona to go to niava and preach to people he hated. Jona refused to go and ended up in a large fish. He got out 3 days later and went to Niava. Now you go tell Jona he was delusional.
See in my situation I promised God 30 years ago if he ever let me see that woman again I would tell her I was sorry for the letter I wrote her. I said that while I was just leaving for work. I thought that was a safe prayer, and the reality was I never thought I would see her again. The problem was, when I got back from work, and I got back to the exact same place where I said the prayer, I discovered that her car was parked right in front of me. I felt like I had the wind knocked out of me, and I could not believe it. And as it turned out, we were neighbors. God really played the old shell game with me that time. There's more to the story, but I don't want to bore you with details.

It just knocks me out how people turn their own foibles and misadventures into lessons from God, no less. Your incident was one of coincidence, not of God....people pray for the most stupid things...thanks for not boring with the details.

Mr.Campbell, so are you saying that Deutoronomy is no longer relevant? Because you say you'd kill me if we lived back in the time of Deutoronomy.

I take it then, that you won't kill me now because you feel that Deutoronomy is not relevant in today's world.

You and I Sir, are in perfect agreement then. We have had a meeting of the minds on the fact that the Bible is not relevant in today's world.

But do feel free to retract what you said and we can continue the discussion.

Many of the stories given in the Old Testament were given to show that trying to serve God by the law alone was impossible. These stories were given to us for examples, and they show us the weakness of a life based only on a law. Now today Christians donot put their hope of eternal salvation on the Law, but rather on the finished work of Jesus Christ. And because some of the stories of the Old Testament now are but examples, this in no way makes the entire Old Testament not relevant. The Bible tells us all Scripture is to be used for instruction. The Old Testament is still necessary especially when one considers the prophecies that still remain, and are in the process of being fulfilled. Of course to say that the Bible is not relevant in todays world would require one to be totally ignorant of those prophecies. You must also remember, the Old Testament is the Old Covenant, and the New testament is the New Covenant which Christians now follow.

Noted. I understand your position vis-a-vis the Old Testament better now.

Well as the old saying goes, the devil is in the details. However, you have already made up your mind so why bore you with details. Or why bore you with facts when your personal opinion is all you need.

What do they say....."you're entitled to your opinion, but not your own facts".
And it's called conviction(s).....I thought we weren't supposed to get in the way of someone's "faith". Where do you or anyone else, for that matter, get off, telling someone what to believe....you have never answered that question.
Is it arrogance? Divine right? Or voices in your head?

I get off when the Lord of the Universe Jesus Christ commands us to go into the world and preach the Gospel to everyone. Now that is a command from the God you supposly believe in. And if you have a problem with that, I would suggest you take it up with Him. I'm just trying to do what He has already stated. WHAT ARE YOU TRYING TO DO?
And unless you are not trying to point others to the salvation that can only be found in Christ, well, maybe then that is why Jesus made the statement. "The fields are white unto harvest, where are the reapers?"

Im sorry what lie have I told? And I have expressed a Biblical belief, and that you say is beating someone over the head? The truth of the matter is, your problem is not with me. It's with the message of the BIBLE.

You say I'm intolerent?

Hears what Paul has to say, do you agree with the apostle Paul?

Or do you not know that the unrighteous shall not inherit the king-dom of God? DO NOT BE DECEIVED; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, shall inherit the kingdom of God.

So is Paul intolerent? He's telling us all these people are going to hell.

Its because the stakes are so high, that Jesus tells his disciples to make disciples of all nations. We are to reach out to those who do not know the Lord and warn them that there lifestyle will keep them from God and there is a better way. Now you call that intolerent, but the Bible tells us unless these people give their life to Christ and change, they are going to hell. I'm sorry that makes you mad, but like I said, it is the Bible that proclaims this. I'm just one of the messengers. We all should be disciples for Christ.

I have to agree with Mr.Campbell. The issue is not with him. It is indeed with the bible.

The Bible is the source of the evangelism that we non-monotheists see as a clear and present danger to other cultures, peoples, and now given this hankering for armeggadon, to the world it self. The culprit is the bible. The followers only do as the bible commands.

There is no reason anymore to tread softly when it comes to these revelations be they in the Bible or the Koran. Enough misery has been caused by them and the directions they give their followers. The good they contain can be found elsewhere. The evil they contain is unique to the monthesim they espouse.

Mr.Campbell is only doing as instructed. His instructer needs to be taken to task.

Who are you to interpret what the Bible says?
Who are you to self-proclaim yourself a disciple?
No matter how much you call yourself a Christian....you are far from it...one can tell by the fruit you bear...one of hate and intolerance and madness.

What's to interpret? I just agree with Pauls statement. How do you interpret Paul when he says no homosexual will enter the Kingdom of God? I'm sure you will have to put on your thinking cap for that one. I guess Paul is not being politically correct, so his blanket statement can't be understood by you?
Gee, I wonder what Paul means when he tells us no homosexual will enter the Kingdom of God? Boy, that's a real hard one. So if I agree with Paul, then that means he and I are filled with hate and intolerance and madness. Paul is telling the truth, and God tells us the world will hate the truth. Jesus said, marvel not if the world hates you, remember, they hated me first. The verse in question does not require interpretation, it's a blakent statement. It only requires reading and you don't like what it says. So you attack me for believing Paul. I believe your political correctness has more to do with your views on morality, than the the Word of God ever did. Now that might work in this world, but I don't think ignoring Gods Word will impress God in the next.

If there was a god as crazed, megelomaniacic, overbearing, murdurous, jealous, paranoid, brutish and as bigoted as depicted in the monotheist literature I would take him to task and be ashamed to be in the same room, planet, universe with such a being.

Here here, you only have to read the first 50 pages of the bible to understand this. And if you are saying that once Jesus walked the earth, preached the word of the lord to the people of the time and thus, the New Testament is the true teachings of God.

Then if they are the same entity as you say they are, when did he have his epiphany and actually decide that drowning women and children was not a good idea and that because some poor lady looked over her shoulder she had to be turned to dust?

Plus I seem to remember a couple of angels turned up to tell Lot to leave soddom, when a group of men came and demanded he hand them over so they could 'soddomise' them. But No! the gallant Lot refused the baying group entry, you can see why God spared this noble gentleman. Instead he offered his two daughters, and I quote:'I pray you, brethren, do not so wickedly. Behold now, I have two daughters which have not known man; let me, I pray you, bring them out unto you, and do ye to them as is good in your eyes: only unto these men do nothing; for therefore came they under the shadow of my roof'

Bearing in mind God has chosen to spare Lot as he is virtuous and God fearing it says alot about what the Big guy in the Sky thinks of women.

Of course that is because you have accepted this worlds standard for morals. The fact is if Aids had come early without any knowledge of how to combat it 2,000 years ago, one could only imagine what would of happened. Of course I'm sure there would of been someone like you to blame God for that. Yes, the God that has created you and gave you this earth to live on, and warned you of the dangers to watch for you would take to task because He told you the truth. I guess you need a God that is a liar. And that is why we have the Devil, it is the Devil who will lie to you, and this world loves his lies. The evil of this would tells us, forget about the warnings of the Bible, and this world has. Now that millions have died because we have ignored those warnings, now you say you would be ashamed of this God who warned you ahead of time of the evil to come. Your ashamed of God because He told you the truth?

People make choices everyday, and according to the Bible, most people would make the choice to hate God. Now there are good reasons for things happing the way they did in the Bible, yet most people are so into their political correctness, that it blinds them to Gods truth and His ways. In the end, God will have no place in their life. People today are actually choosing the ways of this world over their place in Gods Kingdom.

God did not offer Lots daughters to the men of Sodom, that was Lots poor choice. Don't blame God for that. And the Flood occured because the people of the earth were nolonger fully human. Yet you would have to read the first Book of the Bible to understand that. And the woman that was turned to salt did not follow Gods command. The problem with this world is, people think God is a joke. You think you can play with Him and get away with it. This world is going to be in for a real surprise. Even now the prophecies of the Bible are telling you what is going to happen, and this world ignores them. The Bible tells us that when God appears, the population of are planet will mourn, because it will be to late for so many. This world has worked so long to oppose God, that they will not be ready to receieve Him when He appears.

Mr.Campbell, I would never blame god for causing Aids because he /she/it has nothing to do with aids which is caused by very scientifically explainable ways. There is no mystery here. 2000 years ago, there would be no answers so if I was born 2000 years ago it would be reasonable to blame god whatever. Today however, there is no excuse to adopt the same line of thinking that was prevelant 2000 years ao.

Also, I must challenge your quoting from the bible to validate god. I again insist that you show some more proof for your claims than to quote from a book that was written by several very falliable men, further ammended by people with tained interests, right down to the time of King James, which is the version you are probably addicted to. its called the King James version of the Bible. King James was not god and neither were the people he chartered to do the translation. Would you agree they could have slipped in changes intentionally and inadvertently? Is it possible that over the course of years and several hand written versions and translations later, the bible could be different from that as envisaged by the earlier writers who too by the way were writing decades after Jesus died and who were then selected by Constantine to be the official version based on his political needs that had nothing to do with Jesus?

So, please stop quoting a document that has suffered all of the above.

The muslims are smarter that way and insist that the Koran is the word of god as given to mohammed. No changes thereafter. To further tighten the argument they also maintain tha Mohammed was illeterate thereby being unable to change the word of god. While I am as much in disbelief of their contentions as I am of yours, one must admire then for being more astute than you guys.

You Mr.Campbell need to expand your horizons and read something other than the good book.
