listen ian,you know im an athiest,so the last thing i would want is sharia law ! but the fact is we dont have it here in the UK,yes they're are radical islamic groups,and they need to be kept in check,but they're is no islamic party with any political clout,only mainstream parties,they're was a court case here in the UK last year about a mulsim woman who wanted to wear a hijab( a veil covering the whole face with only the eyes showing ) in a school,i was totally against this woman and what she was trying to do,and so was the vast majority of the country,and quite rightly she was told she could not wear it,im a no muslim apoligist,the actions of the extremists anger me,with their views,but thre is no islamic party with any political power.

@Red cv,
I know their actions anger you, like every other sane person on this earth, including moderate Muslims. It's just that you cannot be complacent and think it's all going to work out on it's own.

i am not being complacent ian,if muslims want to live in a country with sharia law,then they should go and live in a country the practises sharia law,they have to live under the laws of the country they live in !

@Red cv,
OK... so how do we go about that?

Do you think they should do more to fit in - I mean, if their in a western country, should they not adapt?

@Red cv,
They did for forty years and then September 11 happened and now they mock our culture and laws. I did not see a burka until after September 11, did you Scooby? NOOOOOOOOOOOOO. They shove our faces in their extremism and we do nothing.

Am I afraid Scooby, not of the Islamist but I am afraid of the liberals or socialist they don't care who they crawl into bed with (literally) as long as they get elected. They'd sell you culture, if you have one left, for a single vote.

And you call us backward , could there ever be a clearer case of double standards? where is your freedom's and human rights? that was clearly the womans wish , nothing forced upon her by family or men or any of the alligations against muslim men , just tell me did you or did you not deprive that woman of her right to practice her religion ?

what really drives me mad is that you actually believe you dont have double standards , you allow people to practice their religion freely , and you think its wrong for a muslim woman to wear a burqa by choice , and this is not double standards!! God am gonna have a fit:banghead: :cussing:

i am not against a woman wearing a veil covering her face,this woman wanted to wear the full veil covering her face in a school,which i think is totally unappropriate,if she wants to wear a veil in her own time thats fine,but not when working with kids in a school,where i think its right that the kids can see the teachers face,teaching in a school is about social interaction,and i dont think wearing a veil working with kids is right !

im not against this women practising her religion ! but in this case wearing a veil in a school teaching kids is wrong ! surely the kids would want to see the face of the teacher !
