Blackwater scares me

I saw this on the Daily Show last night.
It scares the hell out of me.

Blackwater is the largest mercenary army in the world.
The US has a "Parallel Military" that is not bound by the Uniform Code of Military Conduct.
Blackwater does INTERNAL operations.
Who does Blackwater report to?

This scares the hell out of me.

A mercenary makes about $30k per month.
A regular soldier makes less than this in a year!

@z0z0,
Part of me wants to go "oh cool"

but the part of me that doesn't watch GI Joe anymore understands this to be a bad thing

unfortunatly this is what happens when a government can't get/keep access to their own military

@z0z0,
The author compared Blackwater to the Praetorian Guard.
A military force used for INTERNAL political action.

Blackwater was used in New Orleans.
Why? Were there not enough regular or reserve force personnel?
Or is it training?

What if the Executive Branch of the Government "goes bad".
How would Blackwater be used?
Would Blackwater be used against US Citizens on US soil?

Read about the Preatorian Guard

@z0z0,
Don't given them that much credit. A whole bunch are braggartly, drug-store cowboys.

@z0z0,
It is not the man with a gun that scares me.
It is the man that gives the orders to the man with the gun that scares me.

Who is giving the orders?
Who do the orders benefit?

The Army is not allowed to carry out military action on US soil.
Blackwater has no such restrictions.

@z0z0,
I am surprised it has taken this long for Blackwater to be recognized. They have been around for quit some time. On that T.V. special did they make any mention of Blackwaters construction division or R&D on there new APC? They are not all about blood and war. Also contracted soilders have been around since the dawn of time. I do agree they are being paid a very large amount of money but they are in fact civilians that are doing a very dangerous job. I can see both the pros and cons of contracted solders.

@z0z0,
You still don't get it. The big question is WHO CONTROLS BLACKWATER.

Will Blackwater become the private army of the Right Wing?
Will Blackwater become the army that defends a fascist regime?

That is the real issue.

@z0z0,
If Hold Your Water can have any impact on defeating whomever it is we're fighting in Iraq, so much the better.

@z0z0,
I do not see how Blackwater can spiral into this huge uncontrollable private army. They are in fact a business. It would not be a smart move on there part to upset a large portion of there customer base. Here and abroad.

@z0z0,
Who buys Blackwater's services?
The US government is the prime contractor.
What would it take to use Blackwater for political purposes?

@z0z0,
What could they be use for? Short of a full blown globally recognized assault on U.S. soil by our own government they more than likely would not use a public tool like Blackwater.

@z0z0,
Contractors in regards to what? Processing the oil and refining it? I do not see a connection between oil and a private security firm.

@z0z0,
America has many enemies, couldn't Iran for instance deploy such forces if they saw an iminent attack?

@z0z0,
The media is America's biggest threat. It deliberately spreads lies to make increasing profits. It can't be trusted, at all, to tell the truth, ever. Yet this lie-machine controls us almost completely. The Western Christian Nation cannot afford to be led by the media any longer. Neither can it afford to adhere to ideologies that compete with its own -- Christian nationalism. In other words, the Christian nationalist cannot be a die-hard supporter of such causes as democracy, constitutionalism, political correctness, identity politics, affirmative action, et al, if ANY of them mitigates against Christian nationalism. Presently, all of them do, and quite severely at that. No, the U.S. media must be crushed, and kept down forever. The media is a propagator of deceit against God's New Chosen People. Forget about Black Water. Focus on the REAL ENEMY.
FALANGE FOREVER

@z0z0,
There are some operations that the U.S. military cannot, will not, or is not wanted to do. Blackwater and other such compaanies are necessary.

@z0z0,
That is more or less how i feel. I am about half way through a video called Iraq for Sale. It talks about the privatization of the situation in Iraq and Afghanistan. There are some aspects of privatization that i do not fully agree with but. As it has already been mentioned there are some things that must be done that our general army/navy ect. cannot do.

@z0z0,
What is it that a traditional military can't do?
A military force should be able to do anything and everything to win the battle.
