The Super Power of the World worried about Russia..
Could this anxiety stem from biblical beliefs? (Israel-Ezekie)

Ezekiel 38:18-20, '"And it shall come to pass when Russia comes against the land of Israel", declares the Lord GOD, that My fury shall explode. For in My jealousy and blazing wrath I declare in that day there shall be a great EARTHQUAKE in the land of Israel; And the fish of the sea, the birds of heaven, the beasts of the field, all the creeping things that creep upon the earth, and ALL men upon the face of the earth, will shake at My Presence, and the mountains shall be thrown down, cliffs shall tumble, and every wall shall fall to the ground".'

You'd think if the future was laid before you-it could be changed. :cool:

@mousy,
"...when Russia comes against the land of Israel"
This is from Ezekiel ??? I don't think Russia existed at that time .

Here is ONE article's excerpt -"Ezekiel 38:1-7, 'And the Word of the Lord came to me, saying, "Son of man, look northward, toward the land of Magog, the chief prince of Meshech (or Moscow), and Tubal (Tobolsk or Siberia)". (Magog represents the Scythians from whom after intermarriage with the Medes, came the Russians. According to the Table of Nations in Genesis 10, these are descendants of the sons of Japheth. 'Gog' is their "chief" or principal man, the Czar or President of a union of several lesser princes)."

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

* Gog and Magog are an ambiguous Biblical pair associated with apocalyptic prophecy, and are also mentioned in the Qur'an as Yajooj (Gog) and Majooj (Magog).

Gog and Magog occur widely in mythology and folklore.
Mesech does not refer to Moscow , nor does Rosh refer to Russia .

What exactly are you asking, yeah, the excerpt of the scripture(King James) quote is accurate-whether the prophecy of the scripture has already occurred is the question.
Except Egypt, when in history has any amount of JEW BLOOD provoked divine intervention?
Like cockroaches, 20th century,Hitler exterminated millions-

poll-less(happy?)

@mousy,

It is NOT accurate at all , someone has twisted it and you have bought the line without even trying to see the fallacy .
Here are verses 1-7 :

From King James Version
Code:And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

Son of man, set thy face against Gog, the land of Magog, the chief prince
of Meshech and Tubal, and prophesy against him,

And say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I am against thee, O Gog, the chief
prince of Meshech and Tubal:

And I will turn thee back, and put hooks into thy jaws, and I will bring thee
forth,
and all thine army, horses and horsemen, all of them clothed with all
sorts of
armour, even a great company with bucklers and shields, all of them
handling swords:

Persia, Ethiopia, and Libya with them; all of them with shield and helmet:

Gomer, and all his bands; the house of Togarmah of the north quarters,
and all his bands: and many people with thee.

Be thou prepared, and prepare for thyself, thou, and all thy company
that are assembled unto thee, and be thou a guard unto them.

(moving ahead to verses 18-20)

18 And it shall come to pass at the same time when Gog shall come
against the land of Israel, saith the Lord GOD, that my fury shall
come up in my face.

19 For in my jealousy and in the fire of my wrath have I spoken,
Surely in that day there shall be a great shaking in the land of Israel;

20 So that the fishes of the sea, and the fowls of the heaven,
and the beasts of the field, and all creeping things that creep
upon the earth, and all the men that are upon the face of the
earth, shall shake at my presence, and the mountains shall be
thrown down, and the steep places shall fall, and every wall
shall fall to the ground.

Many make attempts at prophecy by misquoting or twisting word . You should vet your sources before throwing such drivel out to make some obscure point .

@mousy,
If everything was foretold then what is the point to struggling against it?
If God said it will happen then it will happen.
Sit back and enjoy it.

Who knows the real word of God? Every MAN has his own interpretation....
Whether Russia has deadly intentions in Israel is yet to be seen.
Whether the United States wars against Russia in behalf of Israel is yet to be seen.

Whether numerous nations allie with the descendants of Gog and Magog against Israel is yet to be seen, lords knows, enough nations hate jew blood, not far fetched they should unite.
However and more importantly, the prophecy speaks of supernatural occurences, lo and behold, The king of the JEWS manifesting himself to smite the nations in behalf of the "choosen."
This is far fetched, this requires proof, not blind faith, not zillions of theories, but genuine and documented proof-

(1)Religion?
(2)Retaliation?(cold-war? middle east?)
(3)Russia's zeal to be a super-power and it's nuclear capabilites to achieve its goals?

Whatever the reason(s)...[a] percentage of citizens firmly accept that Russia(2007)is the number 1 threat to the United States and its' goals.
This mixture of fears & beliefs affects the United States relations with the Soviets.............

The average citizen of the United States will harbor resentment - A rise in anti-semitism will occur-perhaps more in the United Stated than anywhere ele's
The average citizen neither understands the rhyme or reason behind the blind bloody devotion to Israel- nor harbors a desire to die for it
