It may also be as simple as a Geo-Political link. The Middle-east is an important part of our resources. The US has many interests through out the middle east. The Problem lies with in the fact that we have few allies. The Israeli-US link is important because it allows the US to maintain a strategic influence in the middle-east. A base of operations that is stable and protected. The Israeli Lobby in the US is a very strong one, while at the same time we use them as a base to maintain influence in the region.
