Does anyone else find this quote a bit weird:

"War critics can no longer credibly argue that we are losing in Iraq, so now they argue the war costs too much." President Bush March 19, 2008

Bush is an idiot. We were never losing anything. We went in, stomped Saddam, and won a war in almost record time. Now people are arguing that it is costing too much, because it is. Of course no one was arguing that at the beginning, no one had a clue that the incredible amount of waste, and billions we are shoveling into private companies was going to be so high. They did their best to lie that it was going to be over quick, and cost next to nothing relatively speaking, and that oil gain would pay for it. All lies. Now we've been there longer than WWII, and gas has more than doubled.

Nah. He's just pointing out liberal defeatism. It's always there, in everything, either whining out loud or sulking in the corner. If it isn't one thing, it's another. Now the war is too expensive. Before it was too bloody. Of course they're right, but it's the way they whine that irritates people.:no:

Yeah.....the initial analysis was so far off it was almost an hallucination. I wonder if they were passing around LSD in the White House when the plot was hatched. :no:

You mean to tell me you WOULDN'T want a foreign country against the will of most of the world invading your country and over-throwing your democratically elected leader and installing their own 'puppet' leader? :dunno:

it is a bit weird, because he's right

the surge is working, the liberal news outlets rarely even touch the war anymore, now they just talk about the cost

funny the same people who say a 120billion a year war is unaffordable are fighting for a 1 trillion dollar a year entitlement health care system

I'm not sure how you quantify "working"?

Especially since we don't even have a goal to 'work' towards.

They like to try quantifying working by reports of less soldier deaths, the killing or capturing of terrorist, etc... the fact they can't seem to come to grips with is the ONLY measure of the surge working is Iraq taking over for itself, and that is not happening, or coming anytime soon.

@92b16vx,
Yeah.....we have to be careful about asking the military for official reports on the success or failure of any counter-insurgency it's currently fighting. Admissions of failure kill careers. :no:

It isn't about counter-insurgency, it is 100% about Iraq taking control of it's own country. The problem is we don't really want Iraq to take control of it's own country, that is a lie. We want who WE want to be in control of Iraq, meaning no one that is friendly to those that do not like us. Unfortunately the fatal flaw is, the longer we are there, the more people that do not like us. We would garner much favor in the world if we let Iraq take control of Iraq.
