POW Lawsuit Could Force Kerry To Come Clean
On Vietnam ‘War Crimes’ Charges
- by George "Bud" Day, Chairman, Vietnam Veterans Legacy Foundation

(10/15/2006)

Thirty five years ago John Kerry slandered an entire generation of men who fought in Vietnam branding them as a "war criminals." Today, much of the same thing is being said about our young men and women in Iraq.

Now, a lawsuit filed in Philadelphia’s Court of Common Pleas will test the very foundation of Kerry’s anti-war persona for the first time. It isn’t dubious medals or Kerry’s disputed service record in Vietnam that is being called into question. This time Kerry may finally be forced to answer for the events that launched his public career, one that made him an anti-war hero for many American liberals and a turncoat for millions of Vietnam veterans.

The lawsuit (Vietnam Veterans Legacy Foundation, et al. v. Kenneth Campbell, et al.) challenges the basis, the factual accuracy of then-Lt. (j.g.) Kerry’s acrimonious testimony before the U.S. Senate Foreign Relations Committee in 1971. It was there Kerry’s public career was catapulted with his now ubiquitous portrayal of American soldiers as murderers, rapists and torturers "who ravaged the countryside of South Vietnam . . . [and] razed villages in a fashion reminiscent of Genghis Khan."

@Drnaline,
Maybe the Fox Network will make it pay-per-view for all their listeners. :cool:

I'm surprised they didn't include Jane Fonda in the lawsuit.

This lawsuit is a waste of time.

@Drnaline,
2 G.I.'s face execution for Iraq Rape/Murder

These things do happen in wartime. ...and that's reason enough to not create
unnecessary wars.

this lawsuit is a waste of time. Kerry should sue the "swift boat veterans
for 'truth'" for baseless slander...

@Drnaline,
Checking the news today , it looks like Kerry put his foot in his mouth .
" Foot in Mouth !!

John Kerry showed us today what he thinks of our military forces . He insinuated that they are dummies that are stuck in Iraq because they did not get an education .
Of course , he claims he " mispoke " . He should do his homework himself . The average education level of our soldiers is High school plus , compared to the average of the general population in the same age group is below high school level . "

@Drnaline,
If it were directed at Bush then why demean the military? Read back to the vietnam war, there is not much difference in his swords. He meant them then and i think he menas them now, Bush excluded.

Some of us realize who the comments were directed at.
Feel free to take the statement out of context though.

@tumbleweed cv,
If Kerry's comments were directed at Bush , then what does Kerry think of his own education ? Didn't they both graduate from Yale ?

@Curmudgeon,
What do you mean " if " ? Common sense says it " was".

Bush is an educated fool and so is Kerry.:beerchug:

Just because someone is book-smart it doesn't mean they have any common sense.:439:

@Drnaline,
Kerry, like Hilary, needs to realize that they aren't gifted with the comical
"off the hip" joke, and that the American public is no longer smart enough,
on the whole, to understand sarcasm, metaphor and the like.

He should apologize, it's what bigger men do. It doesn't matter what you
mean, it's what's heard.

@Drnaline,
Wait, Kerry isn't getting a break from Repubs for making a mistake in a speech? So.. he wants what Dems never gave Bush for his speech mistakes?

as Jackie Gleason used to say....Oh, how sweet it is...

Kerry might have a chance if he hadn't blasted the troops before

A toast to Kerry.."May you and Hanoi Jane be forever linked together in History"

@GoodBoy,
Kerry made a huge mistake in 2004, and that was NOT running as the anti-
war, cozy buddy of Hanoi Jane. The anti-war contigent was the one sector
without a candidate. People in favor of the war in any way had their candidate
in Bush. If Kerry had run on "Bring Them Home!," he would have provided
the needed opposition candidate and won!
