Call home = call home the soul of the dead?

Context:

@oristarA,
In this case, it would seem that Paul is a relative, friend, or acquaintance.

The first sentence, "Paul is dead" is giving information.

The second sentence "Call home" is giving an instruction.

Presumably, calling "home" does not involve calling "Paul".

Example: Paul is John's brother. John receives the message "Paul is dead. Call home." John then calls his mother.
