I doff my trilby in your direction.
I will never understand why and when we lost this wonderfully delicate and honourably polite mannerism, (manner, manners)
It makes me sad it is now met with suspicion.
I will also say good morning to folk when out early and I have found you will only get a reply if it is early morning.
The more the day goes on the more cynical and suspicious the world and people becomes, and by late evening and night it is downright dangerous to greet anyone.
It does make me wonder that the more polite and pleasant people are the early morningers.
