Here is my sentence:
My professional activity began in 2009 in XYZ. As I was developing my BSc dissertation at the time, I considered it would make sense doing so on “The Challenges of XYZ”.
Is this grammatically correct? Does the doing so make sense in this sentence?
Thanks a lot for helping out,
Cheers,
@gppt,
It seems unwieldy, what about
My professional activity began in 2009 in XYZ. At that time, I was developing my BSc dissertation on "The Challenges of XYZ".
@Victor Eremita,
I see what you mean. Keep it simple
Thanks for your time.
Anyway just for knowledge, can the "doing so" be used like that?
Thanks again.
@gppt,
Yes. "Do so" is a pro-verb (like a pronoun, but with a verb), so it can be used so long as there is a clear antecedent.
@gppt,
i selected, as my bsc dissertation, the challenges facing xyz after joining them in 2009
