@Setanta,
You too because you don't believe, you don't know what I'm talking about. Belief is a light that goes on in your head, or a fire that sparks in your stomach. You have never experienced it so the good things I talk about wont submit for you.

@MWal,
Those lights and sparks hasn't done much for humanity.

@MWal,
Ignoring your piss-poor performance in English, you are ignorant and incapable of reasoning in a logical fashion. Your lights and sparks are nothing more that your preferred delusions. I was once a believer, but i was not troubled with lights and sparks. I abandoned the belief because it made no sense, there was no evidence, and believers are, sadly, all too often a pcak of hateful would-be dictators.

@cicerone imposter,

@MWal,
All my siblings are christians, and they have talked to me about their god and praying for me. That's more than I need in my life.

@MWal,
Basically, you're an intellectual coward who can't make his case, and who won't acknowledge the hatefulness of his position. I understand the nonsense you're peddling, and i don't hate you. You're just not that important

@Setanta,
Your words are hurtful, I wish you would reconsider the things you have said about me. Where did we go wrong? Was it where your a bigot towards pot heads, or bigot towards theist.

@One Eyed Mind,
Quote:
Also, again. Any religious definition - any - is already the definition of non-definition. Religion isn't the Universe; religion is man-made. It separates our people because it doesn't want to accept an ever-changing, ever-evolving world

Lets see.

I have a Tanach right here, and Psalm 49 in Hebrew says the following

Quote:
2 Hear this all you peoples, give ear all you dwellers of decaying earth...

Decaying earth. (Several other translations are incorrect when writing this part in other languages, the Hebrew intent is what rules)

Yes, the sons of Korah knew more science than you do, because there is not such a thing as "evolution" on earth, but solely decay.

When you talk about "evolution of earth" then you are showing a weird ignorance, and you just said it because you are just repeating what others say before.

The "ever changing" on planet earth means "ever decaying".

The point is that the origin of the idea of humans and other living species as having a soul is from religious sources.

Science might have borrowed the idea and modified the concept, still, the idea of having a soul was born from religion.

Understood?

@MWal,
You babble about love and happiness, and here you are suggesting that i'm a bigot. You started out in the atheist thread calling all atheists goons. If "we" went wrong anywhere, it was as a result of your hatefulness. You've been nothing but nasty toward anyone who does not think as you do. If there is a bigot involved, it's you.

@Setanta,
I'm not here to fight, or accuse you of things. Go on your way and ill be on mine.

@mark noble,
If you 'see' personality as character, yes. But, also be aware that nobody really knows a person's personality except for their external characteristics.

That's the reason why so many people who do violence was considered to be a 'nice' person.

@cicerone imposter,
So you would agree abstracts like love, and knowledge can be described as spirits? My very belief.

@cicerone imposter,
I still have no idea what 'soul' or 'spirit' is, Cic. They do not exist in my reality.

@mark noble,
If it doesn't exist, it doesn't. Only you can determine what you wish to believe.
