ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - The intersection of Lomas and Eubank was shut down Thursday afternoon because of a man threatening suicide at a nearby mortuary.
The intersection reopened around Noon.
Albuquerque police said a man walked in to French's Mortuary stating that he wanted to make funeral arrangements for himself because he has terminal cancer.
He then threatened to kill himself inside the business, according to police.
Police believe a weapon was implied but not observed.
When SWAT and police officers arrived and searched the scene, they couldn't locate the man.
They also searched for him at a nearby hotel but didn't find him, according to police.
Albuquerque police said they'll continue to search for him so he can get the medical attention he needs.
@dyslexia,
Maybe they should do their searching in the nicely finished, wooden boxes.
