not having to say you are sorry.
quote
A sadist is someone who is kind to a masochist!
Well I watched Quills last night so now I am an expert of course, yikes I don't mean that. But it was a great movie.
Sadomasochism means....
being independent!

I wonder if you're being serious. Surely you do not think this kind of 'interaction' is a joking matter?
Of course, if people CHOOSE to be sadistic, and there are those who WANT to be cruelly treated- there is no reason to go meddling in their relationship.
A sadist derives sexual gratification from abusing the partner, and the masochist derives gratification from being humiliated and abused.
For the life of me, I will never be capable of understanding THAT sort of twisted interaction.
jackie- You see variants of sadomasochism in everyday life. Some people derive pleasure from controlling and humiliating others, some from being controlled and humiliated. When taken to a person's intimate life, the desire to be controlled or to control can be taken to the final level- the death of one human being by another.
I find this a fascinating subject, but it is really too late at night for me to gather my thoughts together properly. Be back again when I am awake!
Yes Phoenix, it is very interesting, albeit horrifying.
Even so, I can see the wit in roger's 'pun intended' reply.
(Curious Avatar, roger- are you a rat or a mouse?)
probably neither, I am jesting.
