WASHINGTON - A politically shaken White House promised Sunday a sharper focus on jobs and the economy, but key advisers were less sure-footed on health care reform. They took a wait-and-see approach as the dust settles from the punishing loss of the late Edward M. Kennedy's Senate seat. (Associate Press).
Good morning breakfast lovers! Even Obama got it. Not too fast, but he gets there eventually.
@kennethamy,
I am curious about the relative degrees of outrage afforded to (1) invasion of a foreign state on the basis of trumped up evidence which was later found to be deliberately manipulated by agencies of government compared to (2) the attempts of a newly-elected president to ensure some degree of equity in access to health services in a nation where many are bankrupted by illness. It would seem to me that where W. skated through with nary a complaint from the press, O is being skewered for attempting to enact many critical domestic reforms for which he clearly had a mandate, despite blatant obstructionism from the other side of the house.
Or maybe that is just the view from Australia....
