And here I thought that the dems were totally against this sort of thing.

http://cnsnews.com/news/article/66208

Quote:
(CNSNews.com) -- House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) says she believes she must pursue public policies "in keeping with the values" of Jesus Christ, "The Word made Flesh."

And here I thought that using the bible to help with policy decisions was totally illegal and wrong.
I mean the dems and the left excoriated Bush when he admitted that he used his religious beliefs to help him make decisions, now it seems that the SotH, the third in line for the WH, is doing the exact same thing.

Will she be attacked and condemned by the left for it?
We shall see.

@mysteryman,
That's because Bush was an idiot in the big seat and she's just a ninny in the third seat down, barely worth the effort to get annoyed over. ;-)

But seriously, I don't worry so much about people who follow the values of Jesus as much as I worry about people who think Jesus is going to rapture all the good little Christians away some day. It's really a matter of degree.

@mysteryman,
MM Do you believe that the philosophic basis for Social Justice as described in Matthew 25 to be acceptable?

btw: It is the "sheep and goats" passage.

I happen to, and regardless that I don't believe in the Resurrection of Jesus I have found no better path to tread than following the admonitions of Matthew 25.

Maybe she's just using it for what good you can get out of it, like whipping your ass when you run out of toilet paper.

I would say that this is a piffle. In reality, she makes decisions based on reality and common sense. She is one of the greatest House speakers ever. After being in office for only two and a half years, she was largely responsible for the passage of health-care reform. She will also succeed in having financial reform passed.
