Battlestar Galactica on DVD

Fess up, who's gonna buy it? The entire series is now on DVD. I had a Cylon ship toy as a kid, with a little removeable Cylon pilot. I have no idea what happened to it. Anyway, are there any fans of this show out there? C'mon, Dirk Benedict, pre A-Team....does it get better than that? Razz

Me, Me, Me! I'm also eagerly looking forward to the return of the show on Sci Fi this December!

Ya dudes this show rocks! Smile
OK gotta give in that I don't know much about it, but it's always a big pleasure to sit back on a Sunday afternoon and watch those awesome stories about gay-sounding Cylons (the ones with the blinking head) and that other human guy getting all the girls...really entertaining stuff.

Am I mistaken, or was Rick Springfield on the show at some point?

Rick Springfield was in the premier for about ten minutes as Apollo's younger brother. He and Apollo were sent out to escort the Cylon peace mission when they were attacked, and Rock's character was killed. I think his name was "Zack."

I just had a look at the website hobitbob mentioned...and what the heck's that?
Are they going to show a new version of Battlestar Galactica?
In my opinion they shouldn't do that. This series is such a famous one of unachievable quality.
I think it will make the same joke of the original series just as that crappy "reinvention" of Knight Rider as the new and "improved" "Team Knight Rider".

New characters, same general idea. Some of the changes: Starbuck's a girl, and is boinking Apollo, no Boxey or Muffit (Stupid Daggit, get back here!), and Baltar is supposedly related to the Adama family (don't say it!) somehow.

everytime I saw Lorne Greene in his really gay suits, I kept flasing back to the Ponderosa. I admit I never got Battlestar. It was a space opera. it never dealt with any cool issues except shooting down those little space "jacks" and keeping that big pile of junk flying to somewhere without an oil change.

NAHH I want all the Sopranos or that old Spielberg show that never made it "Amazing Ripping Tales"
(somethin like that) They were too great for TV

@hobitbob:
Ya I just had another more careful look at the webpage and recognized Starbuck and Boomer having been transformed into beautiful ladies.
Now besides the fact that cute girls usually don't bother me I think the replacement of former male characters with female characters is an obivous sign for my thesis that this return of the Galactica show is going to suck...if you don't believe me just think of the good old business saying "Sex sells"...

Erm and after that I got a question: What's the meaning of "...boinking [Apollo]..."?

I'm up to 3 vhs tapes an it's getting so confusing - trying to keep it all in order. Buying is better I believe. Rolling Eyes
