There has been much criticism about the Adidas designed ball used in this World Cup...not only from teams that have lost or tied but also from those that have won or tied. Evidently there are deep grooves that cause it to go unpredictably off course.
The English goalie who badly flubbed the kick from the U.S. declined to blame the ball but did say he had never missed one by so much. And the American striker said that the ball did not go quite where he had expected it to.
