Pain of Childbirth.

A woman who had just started labor goes into the maternity ward with her husband. The doctor approaches up with a novel proposal.

We have an experimental machine that will transfer the pain of childbirth from a woman to the father of the baby. This way the couple can share in the labor equally. Would you like to try this new device.

The couple agrees and as labor starts the doctor turns on the machine.

"Let's start it so the father feels 10% of the pain" the doctor suggests. And they agree.

The husband says "hey, this isn't bad". The wife is happy because her pain is decreased. So they decide to turn it up to 20%

At 20%, the husband declares the pain isn't that bad. So they turn it up to 30% and 40%. At 50% the husband isn't having any problems at all, so he bravely suggests that he can take all of the pain.

So the doctor turns the machine up so that 100% of the pain transferred to the father of the baby.

The husband does fine. The woman is very happy to have given birth with absolutely no pain.




















Then they return home to find the next door neighbor, face twisted in agony, lying dead in the driveway.
