This English language French production earned Juliette Lewis the Best Actress award at this year's Cannes Film Festival. Coming to (a most likely limited run) the US this March:

I'll keep an optimistic eye out for this one Wandel. Could be a worthwhile popcorn flick! Smile

@tsarstepan,
Yes! Also, Wes Craven is back!

When Wes Craven was growing up, his parents did not allow him to watch movies. He earned a master's degree in philosophy and taught at community colleges. He started to work as a camerman for a friend who was making independent films.

Paul Giametti (one of my favorite actors) + Thomas McCarthy (director of the incredible independent films, The Visitor (2007) and The Station Agent (2003)) = Awesomeness entitled Win Win! http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1606392/

I was kind of hesitant reading that Owen Wilson was taking the lead of the next Woody Allen film.

But how can a film where the city of Paris is the lead character not be an enticing romance? And after watching the trailer? This one is a must see.

@tsarstepan,
Oh and another one. Called The Debt. The film, starring Helen Mirren and Tom Wilkinson, that apparently should have been released last year but couldn't be released since Miramax studio went backrupt.

Yes, I find that a surprising choice, too, tsar.
I didn't know there was a new Woody Allen coming up ... interesting, from London, to Barcelona, to Paris ....
I wonder if the next one will be set in Venice, or perhaps Florence? Wink
Have you come across any reviews of this one yet? Obviously I haven't, but will go look.
From the video preview it looks like our main character might be having an affair, or is definitely up to something!

Melancholia Trailer: Kirsten Dunst Is Getting Married, As Long As the World Doesn’t End

Lars Von Trier's latest film is some kind of science-fiction turned melodrama via the path of a disaster film.

@tsarstepan,
James Franco is getting A LOT of flack over his accepting of the lead role in the Planet of the Apes franchise reboot, Rise of the Planet of the Apes but the first trailer just released looks very very very promising:

@tsarstepan,
Some independent films need a boast before they even launch into the theaters:
Stuck Between Stations (2011)

Casper, a young soldier home on leave, has a chance run-in with his childhood crush, now a grad student coping with conflicts of her own. In one night, the two traverse a striking Minneapolis cityscape, growing closer but knowing they will inevitably have to part ways at dawn.

Not sure if I want to dive head first and see this at the Tribeca Film Festival. Would be the second time I partaken in an internationally renown film festival.

What’s Your Number? Trailer: Anna Faris Is Funny Like a Dude

http://nymag.com/daily/entertainment/2011/04/whats_your_number_trailer_anna.html?mid=373952&rid=422483811

Anna Faris, ditzyesque blond/slacker and quite funny comedienne, gets a more traditional rom-com lead: What’s Your Number?

@wandeljw,
Like the first part, I'm intentionally skipping the Harry Potter trailer in order to avoid any possible spoilers.

I still might break my rule for highly anticipated films and watching trailers simply because Part 1 didn't live up to my very high expectations and I might need a vaccine booster to get excited about the last Harry Potter film (until they reboot the franchise 3 or 4 years down the line).

ANOTHER EARTH is some kind of weird hybrid science fiction/melodrama that's getting a lot of buzz around the film festival circuit. The trailer looks like a heartbreaker as well.

Quote:
Synopsis
In ANOTHER EARTH, Rhoda Williams (Brit Marling), a bright young woman accepted into MIT's astrophysics program, aspires to explore the cosmos. A brilliant composer, John Burroughs (William Mapother), has just reached the pinnacle of his profession and is about to have a second child. On the eve of the discovery of a duplicate Earth, tragedy strikes and the lives of these strangers become irrevocably intertwined.
