Movie trailers that make you feel all gushy inside....

This thread can be a depository for up and coming films which you have become quite excited to see.

DISCLAIMER: Given the propagandistic nature of trailers, don't blame me when the movies come out and the film you so eagerly anticipated sucks. Sad That said, I based this following thread after seeing the following trailers that might or might not be attached to some actually thrilling films:

Robert Rodriguez's uberstylized-retrofitted-retrosatire Machete ~ http://www.imdb.com/video/imdb/vi1947666201/;

and the DNA manipulation-exploitation horror film, Splice:
http://trailers.apple.com/trailers/wb/splice/

Here's hoping they're as good or better then their trailers!

Do you have any movies you're eagerly holding your breath for?

Hate it when that happens. Like when you see a trailer for a comedy that's hilarious and then when you go to see the movie or buy the DVD, you realize all the good laughs were in the trailer.

Sneaky, sneaky...some theaters this weekend showed the trailer for The Twilight Saga: Eclipse before the movie Iron Man 2 in order to show the men in the audience that Twilight is about an army of vampires and not mushy love triangle stuff. Clever. Men probably weren't fooled, though LOL.

i never go to theaters, and i rarely watch trailers on line, i'll read about a movie i'm interested in, but that's about it,

I thought the continuation of this thread's title was going to be "...but which turn out to be totally misleading," in which case I would have posted this:

I'm really not a fan of Leonardo DiCaprio but with Christopher Nolan's latest summer blockbuster coming out this July?

I don't remember who said it, but I like this quote:
Quote:
The trailer is the movie the producer wishes the director had made.

I'm not a big movie buff, but I would like to see Solomon Kane when it comes out in the fall. Someone else will have to find the trailer, I have to go feed my hungry dogs and husband.

We don't either...we like watching at home and the popcorn is better. I also don't usually let reviews guide me in not watching something. Rottentomatoes gave Iron Man 2 a 74% favorable rating, but I'd have watched it (love Robert Downey, Jr.) if they'd given it a zero. I do watch trailers if they're available and easily accessible. Except for slasher movies...I'll FF through those previews on a DVD.

@Irishk,
George Clooney is a great presence on the big screen. This one looks intriguing indeed!

@tsarstepan,
Wow...that looks fab-u-lous!!! Perfect for my current 'espionage' phase LOL. Rewatched Body of Lies recently...gritty Crowe and DiCaprio at their best! This one looks even better.

@tsarstepan,
This teaser trailer has got to be one of the most surreal yet vague teaser trailers I have ever seen.
http://www.imdb.com/video/imdb/vi759826201/

Add to the teaser trailer the stark and virtually empty space of the official website:

"The story of a chameleon with an identity crisis" LOL. I wonder what part Bill Nighy plays?

I have the following audiobook for Never Let Me Go by the acclaimed writer of Remains of the Day, Kazuo Ishiguro. Still haven't got around to listening to it but came across this trailer to its adaptation:

Now if only I had something to listen to the audiobook on because my iPod has gone kaput.

@tsarstepan,
I was just talking to a friend about this last night. I haven't been excited about a movie in a long time. The ones that perk my interest keep letting me down. I remember when i saw youth in revolt trailer a long time ago and thought it might be a good comedy but never went out of my way to see it. A few nights ago i couldn't find anything else so i decided to check it out. Horribly disappointed to find out that all the funny parts that made me laugh during the trailer were the only ones in the movie. It was boring and very predictable.

To recover from that i decided to check out a Japanese English dub movie that i thought was going to be horrible, called Ichi. It actually turned out to be a pretty decent film. Totally unpredictable but i think most people would hate it.

@Krumple,
Yep. That's the dangers of placing ones faith in a 60 second trailer. I found out awhile back that sometimes the trailer is made while the film is still in production rather then post-production and that sometimes the trailer even has scenes in the film that were cut out of the final film before it was released. This is a far more common inconsistency than one might think it could be.

@tsarstepan,
I'm taking an optimistic chance that the comedy The Switch will not be a formulaic romcom mess:
