Lollipop and rod-shaped candy

I have had a conversation with some Chinese girls, in which I told them that I could translate just everything from Chinese into English without hesitation. So they put me into certain tryouts again and again, and of course I succeeded in response. They hailed time to time. But when a teenager pointed to Chinese word lollipop, I silenced. Because I forgot the spelling of the English word. Three seconds after, however, I told them it was rod-shaped candy . Do you think this translation of mine is acceptable or not?
