Please see this English text....
Although most people think that cats purr because they are content, the purring noise of a cat is actually involuntary and is not directly related to the emotion of the cat.
purr ---> making some noise
what does 'content' means here ?

Content means happy, feeling good..
@Francis,
I guess 'involuntary' means automatic here.
@tintin,
Content in this use is feeling at peace, or having mild pleasant feelings. Involuntary would be better thought of as meaning more reflex/instinctive as automatic has machinery applications as well as reflex.
