Which one would be the correct way of writing ....I'm bit confused .
It has many negative effects including the following: algae blooms, coral reef destruction, imbalance of the fish population.
OR
It has many negative effects including: algae blooms, coral reef destruction, imbalance of the fish population.

I'd say "It has many negative effects including algae blooms, coral reef destruction and imbalancing the fish population."
