@panzade,
Wow.

Sicily is a place I can still imagine getting to go to if a ship arrived at my door..

I've read about Etna before but in passing, not know about the local stuff.

@vonny,
I've been one of those lucky blokes who have been able to travel extensively, and have visited 77 countries as of my last count.

A colourful sky before sunrise on Whitley Bay beach - December could be the mildest across a large part of England since records began more than 350 years ago.

@vonny,
That's stunning, Vonny.

Tonight's rare Christmas full moon, less stunning, from here in Korea:

@FBM,
Whitley Bay is the nearest seaside resort to my childhood home in Newcastle-upon-Tyne - only a few miles down the road. Stunning beaches for miles and miles - makes me homesick to see it again!

@vonny,
I find it easy to imagine your homesickness. I don't think I've ever lived in a place where such sights are possible.

@FBM,
Some fairly dramatic sights in the UK at the moment - we're having what is possibly the warmest and wettest December since records began!

@vonny,
Ah-ha. Nothing quite like that here. It's a lot warmer than it should be, considering that it's almost January, but not much precipitation. There was snow a couple of weeks ago, but we should be under several inches of it at this time of year. http://i206.photobucket.com/albums/bb192/DinahFyre/thsmiley_sigh.gif
