From The Telegraph....

Adventurer Sam Cossman moves towards the huge Marum crater lava lake while wearing a custom built industrial proximity heat suit. The crater is one of only seven lava lakes on the planet, located on the remote island of Ambrym, in the Republic of Vanuatu.

@panzade,
That is high on my best photos I've ever seen list that floats around in my mind - so completely gorgeous in every way.
Got to remember her name - Susan Faulkner Davis, 2015.

This reminds me of a series I saved (where did I save it, eh?) and never posted about, by a person photographing a lot of chickens and owls. Will post if if I snag the link from my files. Not a whipsnapping eyecatcher photo like this one among them, but they were interesting overall.

Susan is a great name for her. All pelicans are named Pete. Is the same true for cormorants.

If you don't follow the batshit crazy Florida thread...even the racoons are odd.

A beautiful photo of first light at Glacier National Park in Montana. Of the image, photographer Kevin LeFevre says: "While shooting the sunrise at Bowman Lake, we were graced with this meandering doe. I scrambled to change my camera settings to accommodate the movement and pulled off this solitary photo. A once in a lifetime."
