Please look at this English text...
A surge in new car sales and a drop in insurance claims suggest....
or
A surge in new car sales and a drop in insurance claims suggests ....
which is correct ? Which one I should use ?
My understand says I should use the second one ...because 'A surge' is singular ...so 'suggests' should fit here.
What do you say ? Can you please comment on this ?

It appears that you have stumbled upon one of the many smoke screens the Obama administration "leaks" out to the liberal media.
he;s asking about the grammar, H2Oboy, Maroon. It's a compound subject, tintin, so use "suggest".

Speaking of cars... the NHTSA reportedly opens probe into 6.2M GM vehicles over corroded brake lines.
I wonder if Obama will be hauled in for a congressional hearing on what he knew and when he knew it?
