How much time has gone by? An hour? A day? A week? A month?
Being ignored for an hour means someone is out eating dinner or something. For a day means they got busy. A week means they're losing interest. A month means it's lost completely.
These are not hard and fast rules or anything. What I'm trying to get across is that it's a matter of degree. So, how much of a delay are we talkin' about?
