a simple thread about folks who had their 15 0r so minutes of fame
so, whatever happened to Joe the Plumber?
you can answer if you want
but you it's not necessary
@mismi,
See? See how soon they forget?
@djjd62,
I'm worried about Baby Jane. I never watched the film so I'm not sure what happened to her then let alone where she is now.
@tsarstepan,
i heard somebody put her in a corner, but Patrick Swayze sorted all that out
They are all in negotiations for their own reality series.
@2PacksAday,
reminds me of a comic strip i read one time (this was before reality tv shows)
one character was saying that some day everybody would be on tv, most of them on maury, opra or jerry springer, the other character asked "what about the ones that don't make those shows?", to which the first replied "cops will take care of them"
Whatever happened to balloon boy's dad?
Does he have his own television show yet?
He was in the news this week, but I don't remember exactly what for....just got out of jail-just going to jail-just went to trial???

One of the things I do when I get bored, is sort of my own version of "Where are they now" I'll look up an old tv show, then look up each actor....just to see if they ever did anything else.
A great deal of them died young...which isn't surprising, since that seems to be a common thing, I know we've had two child/young actors die very recently....Haim and Boner {Koenig}. But many of the ones I have found were unknowns, that didn't really get front page coverage....or at least nothing I noticed anyway.....say they appeared in 2 or 3 episodes of Cosby, then made a few more single appearances on other 80's or early 90's tv shows....then died of an overdose or were shot or something to that effect.
Some of these kids were very talented, and I remembered them after a bit of research....one night I found so many of them that I just stopped, was too depressing....I couldn't help but to think these kids are gone for stupid reasons....and didn't get much notice, perhaps a mention on Entertainment Tonight or something {if that show is even still on} yet Joey Buttafuoco is still roaming the streets of NYC and still in the news from time to time.
Whatever happened to . . .?
A few movie stars in the 1950s were touted as the new Valentino, the new Greta Garbo, whatever. Each made aproximately one-length picture and then disappeared from view. Anyone remember . . .
Faith Domergue?
Edmund Purdom?
Anthony Dexter?
(He was supposed to be dead ringer for Rudolph Valentino)
Anyone lese like that you can think of?
@Merry Andrew,
I remember the first two names..
Trying to remember the name of the boy in The Window.. Bobby Driscoll, that's it. I never did see that, or much else he was in, except So Dear To My Heart and Song of the South, when I was barely sentient, but somehow I remember about him going downhill.
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0237985/
@ossobuco,
Oh, yeah. Good ol' Bobby Driscoll.
Bernhard Goetz.
Pretty much considered a hero around these parts, and no, not for shooting black guys....just for not taking any ****.
@Merry Andrew,
His name meant something to me, first as good
and then of bad. News for me, virtually a blank.
@2PacksAday,
Really? I took him as insane. At the least with inchoate rage, however cool delivered.
@ossobuco,
Yeah, really....but we come from different cultures.
I gave you a full answer, but held it back, most of it was about a local case that I don't want to write about here....I'll PM it to you tomorow.

Trying to remember the name of the guy that was famous for a few min {mainly from the parodies, on SNL and I think NNTN} for just walking onto a newroom set one day...wandering around behind the reporters while they were on-air.
