The Administration's greatest error of judgement was probably the assumption that the Iraqi people would roll over in response to their invasion, in exactly the same way as the American people did when they stole the White House.

While some could say their mistake is being demonstrated daily by the ever-growing tolls of body-bags and casualties, the President might claim, "The increasing numbers of bombers committing suicide is proof that we are winning the war on Terrorism".

The 2% of former Baathist Iraqi's and the foreign terrorists make up the population of Iraq? Damn!

I guess someone should tell the other 98% of the people who live in Iraq that they need to apply for citizenship.

Most Americans are Sheep
Most people don't like their country being occupied and plundered. Americans only have experienced real war in their country during the Civil War. Most Americans mainly see America as being the good guys and find it hard to grasp that most of the rest of the world doesn't quite have that simplistic view. Dubya is a 10 yr. old mentaly challenged child in a middle aged man's body.

Most people don't seem to like their choice of leaders being hijacked either - although it can take some time before they realise it. The problem is that when elections are rigged, democracy becomes dictatorship!

Concerning Bush's mental age, he is but a speech-making front man. Those pulling his strings are far smarter and more cunning.

He is lousy at speeches and answering questions,so the Neo-cons sure picked a loser.

I remember US presidents always used to hold quite a lot of press conferences. Not Dubya, he's too stupid to answer questions without a teleprompter. For heaven's sake, the moron's incapable of stringing more than five words together unless it's written down for him.

In Iraq today, two more killed, two more injured.

Doubtless someone in the Administration will claim this as a success, pointing out the consequent reduction in the terrorist's stockpile of munitions. Rolling Eyes

Chinook helicopter shot down today with at least fourteen killed and twenty injured over fictional Weapons of Mass Destruction.

In Bush-speak, this translates to another great victory with more jobs building a replacement helicopter, increased employment for doctors/nurses and less weapons in the terrorists' stockpile!

The good news is that Bush, Rumsfeld, Chaney and the rest of the gang are secure in their bomb shelters.

How much more of these insanities are voters willing to accept?

Much as I agree with you usually, Wilso, I want to take issue with what is kind of a dangerous assumption: "he's too stupid to answer questions without a teleprompter. For heaven's sake, the moron's incapable of stringing more than five words together unless it's written down for him."

Bush is a moral moron, but he's not dumber or less articulate than the average American. But he is a president chosen by God, don't forget, and as such has to wait for God's transmissions to get through the stratosphere. They usually arrive in Rove's office, but not necessarily in time to quickly respond to questions at a press conference.

The greatest disservice we can do ourselves is to underestimate this guy and his "theological" machinery.

I think you scored a very valid point here.

Dubya is a polarizing president. It seems to me that one either likes him or loathes him. There is no "in-between."

His followers will follow him blindly into a second term. Those who oppose him may choose to sit out election 2004 because they have become so embittered with Dubya and all he stands for.

Too bad.
