Together with Jan Korbel? Does it mean that Michael Snyder and Jan Korbel led the same team? Or does it mean Michael Snyder led one team, and Korbel led another?

Plus, what does "promiscuous" mean?

Context:

Now, two teams have revealed dramatic differences between the non-coding DNA of people whose genes are 99 per cent the same. "We largely have the same sets of genes. It's just how they're regulated that makes them different," says Michael Snyder, a geneticist at Stanford University in California.

Promiscuous proteins

Together with Jan Korbel, a geneticist at the European Molecular Biology Laboratory in Heidelberg, Germany, Snyder led one of the teams. They found that transcription factors " proteins that attach to stretches of non-coding DNA and affect how nearby genes make proteins " act at very different locations on the genomes of different people.

@oristarA,
Yes, they both led the same team.

'promiscuous' means will mate/have sex with anyone/many partners so here, my guess is that it means the proteins will combine easily and readily with whatever they combine with.
