How do you say DOC, which means Department of Commerce, USA? -- Dee Oh See? Or Dok?

Some acronyms are said as if they were a word, most are said as initials. NASA is said as if it were a word Naasuh. FEMA is pronolunced like a word. Ones that spell unpronounceable words are USUALLY pronounced as letters, but not always FNMA is pronounced Fannie Mae, and FHLMC is Freddie Mac (that one;s more of a stretch). Basically the pronunciation is kind of on a case by case basis.
