RP... you should convert your basement into a swimming pool or an extra large interactive aquarium.

I used to have basement leaks up in northern california - and ended up putting my shelving on refrigerator castors (or whatever you call those long bars with wheels). I also had a basement drain, but that's where the water came from, heh. Bought a sump pump, but once I bought it, I didn't have to use it, thankfully.

it's been a while since i actually had to remove water.

usually we get a small puddle or two after a big rain storm, and a couple of well-placed fans take care of it in no time...
