I suppose that you need to be older than 40 before entering

You know too often China's media lied and lie. Now some people in China have now posted a thread, indicating that the four old news as follow were extorted. They also indicated the truths behind. Here I need you guys to verify them.

1) Chinese media: The Great Wall and the Egyptian Pyramid were so great that American astronauts could find them from outer space.

Truth: (American astronauts:) We couldn't see anything save a blue planet.

2) To illuminate the greatness of Leifeng's spirit, Chinese media said that West Point stipulated that learning Leifeng was necessary for every student there.

Truth: The principal of the West Point told Chinese visitors that the West Point didn't know who was Leifeng at all. He also told them that the tradition of WP allows its students learn the advanced militory ideas of someone, and does not allow them learn the person himself.

3) To tout the personal charm of former Chinese premier Zhou Enlai, Chinese media said that after Zhou's death, the United Nations decided to fly its flag at half mast in the day of mourning him. All members of UN objected the decision. The secretary-general told them that in his lifetime Zhou had no more money than what he needed for a living and that Zhou had no lovers. So all members were moved and agreed flying UN's flag at half mast.

Truth: It is a just rule that UN will fly its flag at half mast when a premier of any country dies. So the story about Zhou is made up.

4) To explain why China needed family planning to control its population, Chinese media told Chinese people a story: When Deng Xiaoping paid a visit to the United States, American president criticized that Chinese family planning had been carring out with paying attention to Human Rights. Deng replied, "Well, I'd present you tens of millions of population every year. How about that?" The president was silenced.

Truth: The president burst into laughter after hearing what Deng replied, and then the president said:"It is for the first time that I hear the leader of a nation to present its citizens as a gift."

"The Earth looked very beautiful from space, but I did not see our Great Wall," lamented China's first astronaut, Yang Liwei, after 21 hours in orbit last October. The comment triggered a round of news stories that implied the structure could not be seen by any astronaut, disappointing many Chinese who thought it was the only manmade structure visible from space.

This is a popular myth: the Great Wall of China is the only human structure that can be seen from space. But it's not true. The reality is that you can't easily see the wall from space with the unaided eye.

In fact, when China's first astronaut, Yang Liwei, went into space, he said that he couldn't see the structure of the wall from out his capsule window.

NASA astronaut Leroy Chiao attempted to photograph the Great Wall of China from out his window on the International Space Station. He photographed a region of Inner Mongolia, about 200 miles north of Beijing. Chiao and NASA believe they can identify parts of the Great Wall in his photograph, but it's not easy to see.

The ancient pyramids at Giza are easy to see out the window of the International Space Station, however.

This myth goes even further, though. People somehow think that the Great Wall of China can be seen from the Moon. The Apollo astronauts confirmed that you can't see the Great Wall of China from the Moon. The best you can see is the white and blue marble of our home planet.

With all of the human construction, many buildings and other structures can be seen from space. But you can't see the Great Wall of China from space.

From a low orbit of the earth, many artificial objects are visible on the earth, such as highways, ships in the sea, railroads, cities, fields of crops, and even some individual buildings. While at a low orbit, the Great Wall of China can certainly be seen from space but it is not unique in that regard.

However, when leaving the earth's orbit and acquiring an altitude of more than a few thousand miles, no man-made objects are visible at all. NASA says, "The Great Wall can barely be seen from the Shuttle, so it would not be possible to see it from the Moon with the naked eye." Thus, it'd be tough to spot the Great Wall of China or any other object from the moon. Furthermore, from the moon, even the continents are barely visible.

NASA astronaut Alan Bean is quoted in Tom Burnam's book "More Misinformation..."

"The only thing you can see from the moon is a beautiful sphere, mostly white (clouds), some blue (ocean), patches of yellow (deserts), and every once in a while some green vegetation. No man-made object is visible on this scale. In fact, when first leaving earth's orbit and only a few thousand miles away, no man-made object is visible at that point either."

Using moden day sattelite images it is possible to see vehical number plates
so i assume that any claim to what can or cant be seen should be suffixed/prefixed with "by the naked eye" and at a height of...
