This new show called the Marriage Ref is supposed to help couples who are having issues.
Some of those offering advice are the likes of Madonna and that Baldwin character. Seems like people I'd want to get advice from since their marriages have been so successful in the past.
Another WTF moment...
@Linkat,
That's hilarious
Alec Baldwin? Wasn't he charged with abusing his wife?
@Mame,
I do believe so - he also was the doting dad that screamed and swore and called his daughter a whore because she hadn't returned his calls - all of course left on a recorded message for the world to hear.
@Linkat,
Yeah, I remember hearing about the call with his daughter. I think he's a pig. (That's not a nice thing to say but that's what I think).
Ricky Gervais, Madonna, Larry David
an unusual group.
some funny moments, but I don't think it will last.
one hour? please . . . too much
@sullyfish6,
I could see it being funny, but honestly who in their right mind would want to go that show - so some failures at being married would make fun of you...bad enough people do this on national tv on a show like Dr. Phil. But to intentionally go to some one for advice that has proven they don't know jack sh*t about the subject.
Yeah he is a pig -
no weirder than catholics taking relationship advice from a priest
@djjd62,
I agree with that - but at least the priest hasn't failed.
I wouldn't take advise on how to tie shoes from MAdonna. In fact, I don't think I would like to meet her. The last time I saw her on the Late Show, she said that she was good at anything she tried.
Please! I saw two of her movies, but, only heard one of her songs, so I guess she never tried to act or sing. I understand 'her' children's books were ghost written.
@Linkat,
I wouldn't even have sex withMadonna!
@Linkat,
People post questions here to get advice and we're complete strangers. At least they can consider the source on TV.
@engineer,
But, people here exhibit humor, one of the classic indications of intelligence.
Good advice can come from anywhere....even those who don't follow the same advice.
@Linkat,
I'd give madonna more credence if she had gone ahead and married Dennis Rodman.
or an E for effort, anyways...
@Linkat,
I've watched a couple of episodes of the show. I think it's hilarious. No one is on there for serious relationship advice.
@DrewDad,
I just happened to catch it (commercial now) OH MY GOD! My throat is hoarse I'm laughing so hard. Larry David (love him) Madonna (eh, but she's being a good foil) and Ricky Gervais (adore adore adore).
It's just a set-up, Hollywood Squares but allowing for riffs on relationships. David and Gervais have been absolutely hilarious. Maybe one of those expectations things (I had none) but I'm impressed.
