@kuvasz,
I would guess, then, that it is in use in many of the rural areas where the dogs do the work they were bred for. Have you ever used it for anything? The part that especially got me was when you said it had no odor/little odor.

This thread prompted me to walk about the house and take "fresh" photos of all the pets I could find! So here we (mostly) are, just this morning.

They're all strays/mixes.

Thanks so much, sweetie! We're missing Nut, little black cat, but she only comes in to eat, really.

I loved seeing the Famous Pacco! The photo with the "hat" is just too cute for words...

@JTT,
My Kuvasz protect my property and my first pair of Kuvasz Aja (I) and Kodi killed more than one coyote on the property whom had been killing my neighbor's chickens and cats. I saw the whole incident the first time. Aja simply ran down the coyote with Kodi a few steps behind her and snapped its neck in the blink of an eye, and came back to me wagging her tail like she had done nothing at all. Neither of my dogs ravaged the coyote, just killed it in an instance and forgot about it. I have never seen anything like it. It was akin to watching a Ninja assassin at work. On the other hand, once while away with Aja and Kodi in my truck I came home to find 6-7 dogs in my front yard and watched as my two Kuvasz jumped out of the window and instead of killing the dogs simply drove them off like they were herding sheep. So the Kuvasz seemed to know the difference between domestic dogs out on the town and predator coyotes.....Why? I don't know; they just do.

The lack of canine scent of the Kuvasz reduces in livestock under Kuvasz protection the fear of a canine predator. With 300 pounds of Kuvasz that helps around the house immensely and my 7 pound Chihuahua smells more than all the Kuvasz put together.

I guess that smallness needs more of something.

I'm intrigued by their lack of smell. Are you saying that if they get wet there's no wet dog smell? Is their canine scent lower than most/all other breeds? Was this achieved through breeding or is it just by accident?

@JTT,
Kuvasz don't smell, dry or wet. It is reportedly bred that way. They exude a natural soil and water repellent that produces a consistently clean fur coat.
