Cartilage Piercing

I had my cartilage professionally pierced when I was 13, although I had to take it out for volleyball. I never had problems and it healed perfectly fine. I have also had my ears and lip pierced with, again, no problems. I repierced my cartilage myself about two months ago. I made sure to clean my hands and everything else. It stopped being red/sore/swollen about three days later. This time though, the skin on the inside (not the back) of my ear is trying to grow over my piercing. I have a captive in currently. I have no problems other than this. I can sleep on that side and I have no pain, even if it's pulled. Is there something I can do to correct it from healing this way?
