@Mame,
I love that ring! Emeralds are my favorite - I'm wearing an emerald ring right now - unfortunately (for me any way) not as grand as that one.

@Mame,
Wonderful, Mame, and here is the perfect song for you and your intended.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FL8_G34xG2o

Love is lovelier, the second time around
Just as wonderful, with both feet on the ground

It's that second time you hear your love song sung
Makes you think perhaps that love, like youth, is wasted on the young

Love's more comfortable the second time you fall
Like a friendly home the second time you call
Who can say, what brought us to this miracle we've found
There are those who'd bet
Love comes but once - and yet
I'm oh so glad we met
The second time around

Thank you everyone - you're very sweet. I'M the lucky one, believe me. He treats me like a princess.

This is my last day on the Island - off to Vancouver this evening to spend two and a half weeks with Leslie, Rick and my First Aid course. (sigh). Wish me luck. Then I have to get some work.

@Eva,
Are you joking??? This is like a police state! Checkpoint Charlies everywhere, permits needed to drive down certain roads, forbidden in certain other areas - no thanks!

Even if you could get some tickets, at this point, you would need to mortgage your home to be able to afford them!

hehe, There's a poll on CKNW at the moment that states:
"It's 2 weeks to the 2010 Olympic Games. Are you starting to feel excited?"

The high answer is currently 73% for 'No'. Laughing

I am so pleased that I live where I live, and not in the Vancouver area!

@Reyn,
The vote should come at the beginning, before the decision to have the O's is made?

"Do you want this in your city?"

Wishing you a perfect wedding day...

The Promise

The sun danced on the snow with a sparkling smile,
As two lovers sat quietly, alone for a while.
Then he turned and said, with a casual air
(Though he blushed from his chin to the tips of his hair),
"I think I might like to get married to you"

"Well then, she said, "Well there's a thought,
But what if we can't promise to be all that we ought,
If I'm late yet again, when we plan to go out.
For I know I can't promise, I'll learn to ignore
Dirty socks and damp towels strewn all over the floor.

So if we can't vow to be all that we should
I'm not sure what to do, though the idea's quite good".
But he gently smiled and tilted his head
Till his lips met her ear and softly he said

"I promise, to weave my dreams into your own,
That wherever you breathe will be my hearts home.
I promise, that whether with rags or with gold I am blessed
Your smile is the jewel I will treasure the best.

Do you think then, my love, we should marry - do you?"
"Yes" she said smiling "I do".
