US brothel hires country's first legal gigolo; 'prostidude' who tried acting in porn films

BEATTY, Nev. - A brothel in a Nevada desert town has hired the state's first male prostitute, a muscular college dropout who abandoned a brief stint as a porn actor in Los Angeles to become the only legal gigolo in the United States.

The Shady Lady Ranch successfully won state and county approval to clear the way for the "prostidude," as Nevada's newest sex worker is already being called. After a slow first week on the job, his first appointments are scheduled for this weekend.

The male prostitute - known as "Markus" - has quickly become the centre of attention in Nevada's brothel industry.

He has been criticized by female counterparts for not being willing to have sex with men.

I think the title is backwards.

This doesn't seem like a very interesting story, other than the fact that I am a bit surprised that there weren't already male prostitutes.

I read a fictional story about a women only brothel. It was more like a club with nice men always in attendance. women would pay a cover charge but many did not partake in sexual liasons. It seemed many women were just a s happy with the thrill of the possibilty and the attention they recieved.

That seems a plausible scenario to me.

Rather him than me. Ladies who are reduced to paying for it are not my cup of tea.

But it's admirable all the same.

I felt that The Roman Spring of Mrs Stone cheated by casting a fair looker in the part. Markus might have some lottery winners to deal with.

It's a lot easier the other way round.

@spendius,
Why are you assuming, Spendius, that most of his customers would be female?

The point of the article seems to be that he's the first legal male prostitute.

@JTT,

I have known a number of male prostitutes.

Not sure what the point us?

That he's legal?

@dlowan,
In the biblical sense, Deb? Smile

I was quite shocked that he is the first legal one in the whole US of A. There is that little demand from the female side of society? I think that's a bit surprising.

My initial thought was he was a male-male hire and I was further surprised to learn that he would be there for females only - do the ubiquitous female prostitutes in Nevada have both male and female clients?

There seemed to be some in the article that thought he pretty much had to take any client who wished his services.

He should set up shop in New York City. Lotta rich women back there, begging for it, paying for it, too...and the men - they're mostly tutti fruttis.
