@CalamityJane,

"You should have read the thread! The best beer is German, period!!"

That's not a very good name for a beer, cj.

Is that a beer that's only drunk one week a month?

@CalamityJane,
I'm also pretty fond of Belgian beers here in eastern USA.

@Lordyaswas,

Are you referring to when the manufacturer deliberately adds carbon dioxide to the finished product to make it fizzy? Or the consequence of natural brewing?

Either way, too much fizz is not for me. A very slight background bubble, possibly, but too much fizz and I might as well drink kiddy pop.

Well...I am not a beer connoisseur by any stretch of the imagination. But I need a little fizz at least in my beer. Or my kiddy pop for that matter.

Flat tends to leave me....flat.

My first laugh of the day! Smile You know exactly what we Krauts mean -
we're not playing around with beer, this is serious business for us.....and
don't mind Walter, he hasn't drunk anything but water in 40 years.

@mismi,
Mismi, what you need is a good "Weissbier" - it has more than enough fizz.

It's known as the home of 'The Whopper' and Burger King is hoping its latest product really lives up to its reputation. The fast-food giant launched a $200 burger Wednesday

Whomever did this article didn't really bother performing any fact checking before spouting this out.

The Guinness Book of World Records lists New York's Le Burger Extravagant ($295) as the most expensive burger. A $500 burger in Beverly Hills unofficially topped that record in 2012 with its flashy ingredients....

@tsarstepan,
I've had some Lambics in my past ...and it was interesting. I found the taste
sort of a mix between champagne or wine and beer....with a little bit of higher octane.

@Ragman,
Hmmmm....fruity beer.

I find the first three ghastly, and then it gradually becomes quite palatable.

You know, beer is a basic food ingredient for us Germans. We know what we're talking about Wink Having said that, I prefer wine over beer, but in the summertime, having a cold Weissbier with a slice of lemon is just so refreshing and good, there is nothing better.

A while back, I was treated to this delight:

Have not seen it on the shelf lately. It's a Widmer product, so where is it?

@neologist,
Speaking of Imperial IPAs ... I picked up a six pack of this stuff for this weekend. Rampant from New Belgium. Outstanding and thick, white head. Very awesome, and soundly recommended if you like a bitter and hoppy IPA.

@Ticomaya,
At first I thought it was imported but it's brewed in Colorado.
I like their Ranger and Fat Tire brews.
I'm looking forward to Rampant.
