@msolga,
Just before I go ...

Deb, if you see this, is Adelaide getting any rain today, as predicted?

@msolga,
No, dammit.

Some is still predicted, but only half as much....and the current clouds don't look promising. There'd have to be a new front.

@dlowan,
Oh bugger!

That is just plain not right, if you ask me! Sad Evil or Very Mad

Here's hoping that there'll be a new front, then ...

Sigh.

@msolga,
After reading your recent posts re rain, I couldn't resist the temptation to let you know, on the subject of rain, we in Parkes (central west NSW) are now, right now, experiencing beautiful drenching rain. We have been in the grip of drought far too long so reading your reports from Melbourne (I was born and bred there) was a delight.

@msolga,
I must go walking again.

That might get it going...especially if I have just washed and coiffed my hair.

The Womadelaide folk will be happy not to be deluged, though, I guess.

Very Happy

Yes, I've personally found that doing something like this virtually guarantees torrential downpours, wild winds & hail stones the size of golf balls!

Yes, yes, do it, Deb!

Ah well, that's something then.

And guess what? I just went outside. The sky is blue. Hardly a cloud to be seen. The sun is shining. The weather bureau lied to us! Neutral

Well dammit, I'm going off to curl up with my book & pretend that there's the sound of rain falling in the background!
What a let down, I was looking forward to that.

Are flows in the Murray River back to normal?

The Murray flows have been so pathetic for so long that it'd take months of heavy rain to get it flowing properly again. Dams, agriculture, drought all conspire to reduce it to a piddle, sadly!

No proper rain in Syd-en-ey this week - couple of showers and lots of cloud! The wind has just come up so something might be brewing. I left the back door open - so now my living area is the resting place for a heap of leaves.

First let me welcome you here, drillersmum. A pleasure to meet you. Smile

And also let me say that I'm as delighted as you are that Parkes (& the central west region of New South Wales) has received a thorough drenching! Puts a smile on your face, doesn't it? And phew, what a relief!

Surprised And you're a Melbournian, too! Hey, let me welcome you again! We need more people like you!!!! Very Happy Razz

Please keep us posted on the conditions in your area. It would be really great if you could.

It sure as hell did.

There were black clouds, and a gentle dusting of rain....then fizzle.

Retraction: Rain came down in bucketfuls overnight. Apologies to the weather bureau. You were right, I was wrong. Smile

More expected today (Labour Day holiday in Oz.). Good!

I am now contemplating a corner spot in my ceiling, site of a most unfortunate newly sprung leak. A big one. Not good.
Unfortunately, this being a long weekend, I can't contact my trusty handyman & beg for a quick repair.
More rain expected today (though it's very sunny right now) so I guess, more leaking ceiling today. Oh joy. Neutral

@msolga,
Well jeez Louise, msO. Are you sure the handyperson couldn't just come throw a tarp over the leaky corner of your house for you? No emergency tarp-throwing services?
