I said, "Well, we could get married" and she said "Oh, that would be nice" Forty years and two divorces later, I can still get a smile out of her when I say "Oh, that would be nice". It's just our classic example of an underwhelming response.

By the way, the last divorce finally stuck. She's in Tulsa; I'm in New Mexico. This might account for the enduring friendship.
