Painting show of JLNobody

Reply Sun 6 Dec, 2009 10:44 pm
JLN sent me some photos of one of his painting shows recently, and has given me the ok to post them on a2k. The color may be off, as they often are with photos in some lighting and by the clumsiness of a certain scanner person.

The first two will be of the length of the show, and the rest the individual paintings and their titles. I'll try to keep them in the order of the show line up.

The exhibit was at Changing Hands book store - I'm not sure if it is still up.

Tell us about the show, JL.. and any comments re the pieces..

Sorry for the weird spacing - I must have to change the size of my scanning space.

No, I didn't, too small.
Think I'll just post the rest as with the spaces, as I'm pooping out.

@Diest TKO,
I don't know if it is in Phoenix or Tempe or another area around Phoenix.
I think JL may have paintings up at Arizona State University, again not sure that exhibit is still in place.

@ossobuco,

Thanks Osso, for posting JLN's art. He's very talented.

I like some, but not all, abstract art. I like those the most that reveal elements discovered each time the canvas is explored. I've painted landscapes, figures, and still lifes, but I seem to favor abstracts. Osso Buco seems to favor one of my abstracts hanging in my kitchen.

I've admired JLN's art since I first saw two of his in Dys/Diane's home. I also have two abstracts given to me by Asherman. My own abstract art is quite different from JLN'sand Asherman's.

I'm not able to paint any longer due to a tremor in my right hand. I guess I could invent a "tremor" style of painting if I could sit down to do it. A new style of abstract?

@ossobuco,
I really like Contrapuntal and Bird Watchers. I need to keep viewing the rest for different perspectives.

@ossobuco,
Thanks, SO MUCH, Osso. The colors are fine. You have done for me what Joanne Dorel me years ago. Good luck tomorrow with year eye surgery.
Tico, since we are neighbors, we should get together for coffee some day. Thanks for the kind words BBB, and I appreciate all the comments.
The Changing Hands Bookstore is a really great place, and more people see the works there than in most galleries (this is my second showing there). I have about 50 paintings hanging on indefinite loan at the ASU downtown campus in Phoenix (411 No. Central Ave). I'll comment on each of these 8 pictures in time.
