There is an article about how western scholars, politicians or the media see China, they predict at various times what will happen to China in 2050, or any other time in future . They base their predictions upon findings, observations and so on and come up with various conclusions, positive or negative. According to this author a new discipline of study is emerging. Can we use "predictology" to denote this new enquiry? Or you can offer some other ready-made words?
There is already a word, "futurology" which may fit the purpose. Also a field of studies, futures studies (colloquially called "futures" by many of the field's practitioners) which... "seeks to understand what is likely to continue, what is likely to change, and what is novel. Part of the discipline thus seeks a systematic and pattern-based understanding of past and present, and to determine the likelihood of future events and trends."
I suppose you could call futurology which focuses exclusively upon China "Sinofuturology".

I think that should be: 'Also a field of study called "futures studies"...'
